Recently, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved the registration application for the innovative product "Patient Controller Charger" produced by Beijing Pins Medical Co., Ltd. after review.
The product consists of a power adapter, charging controller, charging coil, and charging belt assembly. It is intended for use by patients aged 18 years or older (excluding pregnant women) to charge and program compatible rechargeable implantable spinal cord neurostimulators.
The core technologies of this product are near-field/Bluetooth dual backup secure communication technology, remote programming technology, and wireless charging technology. It can directly establish a Bluetooth connection with the pulse generator, improving the user experience for patients receiving programming. The product features two types of secure communication technologies: near-field and Bluetooth. If one communication method fails, the other can be activated. Bluetooth communication is normally turned off by default to avoid accidental connections with other Bluetooth devices that could cause device malfunctions or parameter changes. When patients require programming, the near-field communication can activate the Bluetooth communication programming function.
This product is part of the spinal cord stimulation system, which offers patients more treatment options. It can automatically invoke pre-parameters based on the patient's posture and achieve refined remote programming functions. This function provides a method for parameter adjustment without the need for patients to visit the hospital, reducing the number of hospital visits.
The pharmaceutical regulatory authorities will strengthen the post-marketing supervision of this product to ensure the safety of patients using medical devices.
