Fosun Kite's CAR-T Therapy Yescarta® Included in 2022 Shanghai Huibao Insurance Program

On May 25, 2022, the 2022 version of Shanghai's city-customized commercial supplementary medical insurance "HuHuiBao" opened for pre-sale. This year’s premium is priced at 129 yuan per year, with a total coverage of 3.1 million yuan. The insured population and coverage responsibilities have also been comprehensively expanded and upgraded. As China’s first approved CAR-T cell therapy product, Yikai Da® (Axicabtagene Ciloleucel Injection), an innovative drug from Fosun Kite Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Fosun Pharmaceutical, has been officially included in the 2022 version of "HuHuiBao." The subscription period runs from May 25 to July 31, 2022.

Yikai Da® (Axicabtagene Ciloleucel Injection) is a locally produced CD19-targeted autologous CAR-T cell therapy product in Shanghai. It was approved for marketing in June 2021 for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma who have received two or more lines of systemic therapy. As of May 25, 2022, the drug has been included in the municipal惠民保 (City Inclusive Insurance) programs of 32 provinces and cities in China and over 50 commercial insurance plans. There are now 81 registered treatment centers. Among them, inclusive insurance programs such as Beijing's "Jing Hui Bao," Ningbo's "Tianyi Yongning Bao," and Hangzhou's "West Lake Yilian Bao" all provide substantial reimbursement. Axicabtagene Ciloleucel Injection has now been officially included in "Hu Hui Bao" (Shanghai Inclusive Insurance), without restrictions on pre-existing conditions. Insured individuals will enjoy zero deductible for CAR-T products, 100% reimbursement, with coverage up to 500,000 yuan.
