Century Kangtai Completes Tens of Millions RMB in Angel and Series A Funding, Files for IPO

Century Healthcare is one of the few enterprises in China producing intraocular lenses (IOLs). Established in 2008, it is a leading innovative ophthalmic optics and biomaterials dual-driven platform in China. Since obtaining the Class III medical device registration certificate for its self-developed hydrophilic spherical foldable intraocular lens in March 2020, and another Class III medical device registration certificate for its self-developed hydrophilic aspheric foldable intraocular lens in March 2021, the company’s products have been included in volume-based procurement in 27 provinces across China. The unique hollow haptic design and 625 large optical zone design of its intraocular lenses are domestic firsts, addressing surgical and vision recovery challenges for cataract patients with capsular bag damage or underlying retinal diseases caused by diabetes and hypertension. As the company’s hydrophobic intraocular lens is nearing the completion of clinical observation, Century Healthcare will become the first enterprise in China to master both hydrophilic and hydrophobic technologies for intraocular lens production. In the future, Century Healthcare aims to make high-quality yet affordable domestically produced intraocular lenses accessible to more people in China, alleviating the visual impairment or even blindness caused by cataracts.

At the same time, Century Healthcare has obtained the first Class III medical device registration certificate for full surgical collagen sponge approved by the National Medical Products Administration since the issuance of the new national standard in 2011. The product has been awarded contracts in the sunshine listing and bulk procurement programs across 25 provinces in China. The company's collagen-based products exhibit excellent hemostatic, restorative, filling, and anti-wrinkle effects, and have been widely applied in scientific research institutions as well as the chemical, food, and skincare industries.
