Recently,Nature/NEJM Double Highlights Conclude: The R0 Value (the Most Important Indicator for Measuring Virus Transmission) of the New Strain BA.5 — Reaches up to 18.6, surpassing measles, the virus with the strongest transmission capability ever recorded in human history. An analysis conducted by Gao Fu's team at the CDC shows that receiving the domestically produced recombinant protein vaccine ZF2001 and extending the interval between the second and third doses to 4-6 months can result in higher neutralizing antibody levels against BA.4/BA.5, possibly making it the optimal vaccination strategy currently available in China to address BA.5.
03Takeda Submits Clinical Trial Application for "First in Class" New Drug in China
On July 7, the latest announcement on the official website of the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the China National Medical Products Administration showed that Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited submitted a clinical trial application for modakafusp alfa injection (TAK-573), a Class 1 new drug, which has been accepted. Public information indicates that TAK-573 is a potential "first-in-class" immunotherapy-targeted attenuated cytokine, currently under clinical trials for solid tumors and multiple myeloma. At the 2022 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, preliminary results from the Phase 1b/2 study of this product in solid tumors were disclosed through an oral presentation.
03Targeted Drug ICP-723 Aims at Recurrent Solid Tumors
Recently, the relevant clinical trial results of a new generation of "tumor-agnostic" targeted drug ICP-723 produced in China were announced, showing powerful in vitro efficacy in TRK-driven tumors. As a novel small-molecule second-generation pan-TRK inhibitor, ICP-723 has strong activity and high selectivity, with the potential to overcome resistance to first-generation TRK inhibitors, benefiting patients more effectively. ICP-723 is a new generation of NTRK inhibitor independently developed in China, capable of treating advanced or metastatic solid tumors carrying NTRK fusion genes, including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, thyroid cancer, etc., as well as patients resistant to the first-generation NTRK inhibitors larotrectinib and entrectinib.
