Gelonghui, September 5th :: AstraZeneca announced on Monday that its drug Imfinzi (durvalumab), used to treat adult advanced biliary tract cancer, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). AstraZeneca stated that interim analysis data from the Phase 3 TOPAZ-1 trial showed that using Imfinzi in combination with chemotherapy reduced the risk of death by 20% compared to chemotherapy alone. The company also noted that regulatory submissions for Imfinzi based on the TOPAZ-1 results are currently under review in Europe, Japan, and other countries.
