The Fifth China International Import Expo (referred to as "CIIE") has entered the intense preparation and final sprint stage. "Old friends" who participated in previous expos, such as Siemens Healthineers, Medtronic, and GSK, have already unveiled their innovative products for this year’s exhibition, covering multiple fields including oncology, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, immune disorders, infectious diseases, and surgical operations.

Siemens Healthineers to Unveil Multiple New Products for the First Time

At this year's CIIE, Siemens Healthineers will focus on comprehensive solutions for the most fatal diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and cancer, showcasing a number of cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements for the first time. As a participant for the fifth consecutive year, the main booth area of Siemens Healthineers will expand by nearly 50% this year.

The world's first mobile emergency and critical care intervention unit, "远征 (Yuan Zheng)," will make its global debut at the CIIE. Developed by Siemens Healthineers in collaboration with Academician Ge Junbo from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, "远征 (Yuan Zheng)" is designed for emergency treatment of critical conditions such as chest pain and stroke in scenarios like county-level healthcare, pandemic response, and natural disaster relief, while also enabling intelligent remote interventional therapy.

In addition, the world's first photon-counting CT, "NAEOTOM Alpha," will also make its Asian debut at the CIIE. This product can detect tiny lesions earlier and more accurately, differentiate clinical changes in tiny lung cancers at their initial stage, and provide precise evaluations of complex coronary heart disease. Furthermore, a significant product in the field of molecular imaging — the ultra-high-end PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography and X-ray Computed Tomography system) Biograph Vision Quadra — will also be showcased at the CIIE.

Cios Spin Mobile 3D C-Arm CT System to Make China Debut at CIIE. This respiratory interventional solution is the world’s first mobile C-arm CT system for full-platform, full-procedural, diagnostic + therapeutic respiratory interventions, providing a multifunctional intraoperative imaging platform for "one-stop respiratory diagnosis and treatment" across different procedures, and can be equipped with a lung biopsy robot.

Medtronic Showcases Over 70 Innovative Products at Exhibition

Medtronic has participated in the CIIE for five consecutive years, and this year it will bring more than 70 innovative products. Among them, several "star products of CIIE overflow results" will be showcased, including the Micra VR and Micra AV Transcatheter Leadless Pacemaker Systems, CoreValve Evolut PRO Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement System, MAZOR X Spine Surgery Navigation and Positioning System, etc.

Medtronic's "Robotics Showcase" will also debut at this year’s CIIE, marking the first time in China that a comprehensive display of surgical robotic solutions for various surgical scenarios will be presented. Among these, the Hugo RAS System robotic-assisted surgery system will make its "China debut" at the CIIE, offering enhanced flexibility, compatibility, intelligence, and accessibility to provide patients with better healthcare solutions. Alongside the MAZOR X Spine Surgery Navigation and Positioning System and the Stealth Autoguide Neurosurgical Positioning System, these three surgical robotics systems will collectively highlight Medtronic’s significant innovations in AI-driven medical applications at the CIIE.

GSK Exhibits Focus on Four Major Therapeutic Areas

This year, GSK is participating in the CIIE (China International Import Expo) for the fourth consecutive year, but it is also its "China debut" with a new image after completing the spin-off of its consumer healthcare business to focus on innovative vaccines and drug development. GSK will concentrate on four core therapeutic areas: infectious diseases, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus, also known as AIDS virus), oncology, and immunology, showcasing innovation.DrugAndVaccine.

In the HIV field, GSK's innovative long-acting treatment regimen for HIV-1 adult patients who have achieved virological suppression — Cabotegravir Injection + Rilpivirine Injection — will make its "China debut." Compared with the current standard daily oral treatment, the new regimen demonstrates equivalent safety and efficacy but requires only once every two months of injection, relieving patients from the pressure associated with daily medication.

In the field of immune diseases, Nucala (mepolizumab injection), the world's first approved targeted human anti-interleukin-5 (IL-5) monoclonal antibody biologic, is a successful case of the CIIE effect. Since its debut last year, Nucala has successfully launched in China within a year for the treatment of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis and issued the first prescription. Nucala will also be showcased at this year’s CIIE.

In addition, the heavyweights of GSK that have been exhibited for many consecutive years will also appear at the CIIE with new indications, including the innovative biologic Benlysta, which has been newly approved for lupus nephritis; Cervarix, the first imported HPV vaccine in China approved for a two-dose vaccination schedule for girls aged 9-14; and the single-tablet, two-drug HIV treatment regimen Dovato, which has received expanded approval for use in stable transitioning HIV patients.
