Computation-Driven Innovative Drug R&D Provider

2022Year10Month27XtalPi Announces Research Collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a Subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, to Provide Design, Screening, and Synthesis Services for Novel Structural Compounds. The research agreement is led by Johnson & Johnson Innovation.

According to the agreement, XtalPi will provide small molecule active compounds that meet specific characteristic indicators for targets designated by Janssen. XtalPi will deploy its comprehensive end-to-end platform – an inclusive digital drug discovery and development system – which includes proprietary cloud-based computing and advanced wet lab capabilities, aiming to shorten the "Design-Make-Test-Analyze" (DMTA) cycle.

XtalPi's proprietary intelligent and automated drug discovery and development platform will generate a large number of novel compounds in a short period of time. Guided by deep learning, these compounds undergo ultra-high-throughput virtual screening, high-precision computational chemistry evaluation, and optimization to identify outstanding candidate compounds for further experimental validation. The most distinctive feature of the computational platform is its extremely high computational throughput, which, without compromising accuracy, achieves at least two orders of magnitude higher efficiency compared to conventional algorithm platforms. This helps explore a broader chemical space, thereby improving the efficiency and quality of drug screening. In the synthesis and testing phase, XtalPi’s human-machine integrated automated experimental system explores optimal reaction conditions and pathways through multi-step reactions, parallel reactions, and other methods, significantly enhancing synthesis efficiency and ensuring comprehensive analytical testing. Building on the previous steps, the practical project experience accumulated by medicinal chemistry experts will guide decision-making in critical stages, ensuring the smooth progress of research.

Dr. Ma Jian, co-founder/CEO of XtalPi, said: "We are very pleased to have reached this cooperation with Janssen. This is a rare opportunity for XtalPi to showcase the powerful technical capabilities of its proprietary intelligent and automated drug discovery platform."
