Medvida Medical recently announced the completion of a Series A+ funding round amounting to tens of millions. This round was led by Hanchi Fund, with participation from Yueli Capital and YSUN Investment. The raised capital will be primarily allocated to new product development, clinical trials for innovative medical devices, and clinical promotion.


Medvida Medical focuses on the field of interventional oncology therapy, dedicated to providing physicians and patients with high-quality products that meet clinical needs. Currently, the company's exclusive and innovative coaxial puncture thermo-coagulation needle has successfully entered Shanghai's Class II Medical Device Innovation Pathway. Its already approved microwave ablation products have been included in Shanghai's Catalogue of New and High-Quality Drugs and Medical Devices. Furthermore, several products independently developed by Medvida Medical are in the registration application process, covering areas such as interventional oncology therapy and intraoperative real-time navigation.


1. International First: "Disposable Coaxial Puncture Thermo-coagulation Needle" 


Medvida Medical's Innovative Disposable Coaxial Puncture Thermo-coagulation Needle integrates puncture sampling and hemostasis into a single procedure. Utilizing this product, after biopsy completion, high-frequency thermocoagulation can be performed in situ without the need to change the access channel. The device seals the sampling site and needle tract within seconds, achieving efficient hemostasis. This significantly reduces the risks of bleeding and tumor seeding or metastasis, enhances the safety of interventional procedures, lowers the cost of complication management, and shortens postoperative observation time.


The product has completed its international and Chinese patent portfolio. In November 2025, the product passed the review and public notification under the Shanghai Special Review Procedure for Class II Innovative Medical Devices, entering the green channel for innovative device evaluation. Leveraging policies supporting innovative medical device reviews, this will accelerate the product's registration and market launch process. In the future, with deeper clinical application, puncture biopsy is expected to evolve gradually from a "high-risk sampling procedure" into a "safe and controllable standard surgical technique." This will provide more reliable safety assurance for puncture biopsy, truly achieving synergistic improvement in both diagnostic accuracy and procedural safety.

Medvida Medical's independently developed "Disposable Microwave Ablation Needle" (Registration Certificate No.: National Medical Device Approval 20243011432), based on 5.8GHz ultra-high-frequency technology, has been officially included in Shanghai's  Catalogue of New and High-Quality Drugs and Medical DevicesThis inclusion represents authoritative recognition from relevant Shanghai government authorities and experts of Medvida's technological innovation, clinical value, and market potential.


As the exclusive microwave ablation product selected, Medvida's 5.8GHz Microwave Ablation Needle is exempt from hospital consumable proportion calculation metrics in terms of medical insurance payment and clinical application. It also enjoys exemption policies under the DRG/DIP payment systems. These provisions allow clinical teams greater flexibility in technology selection, facilitating rapid clinical adoption and standardized use.


3. Self-Developed 5.8GHz Microwave Ablation Platform 


With the evolution of interventional clinical needs toward "precision, minimally invasiveness, and personalization," and in response to the core clinical demands for precise ablation and reduced tissue damage—alongside the industry's exploration of superior technologies—Medvida Medical has provided a highly targeted innovative solution. Its independently developed 5.8GHz ultra-high-frequency microwave platform demonstrates distinct advantages over currently approved microwave ablation products in China that operate at the 2.45GHz frequency, including faster energy transmission, higher energy concentration, and more precise control over the ablation zone. The high transmission rate of the 5.8GHz frequency band enables a more compact design and smaller size of the energy-emitting antenna, allowing accurate adjustment of the forward energy propagation distance. This creates a steep temperature gradient field, thereby achieving a precise spherical ablation area and effectively reducing thermal damage to non-target tissues. This technological advantage is particularly significant for tumor lesions adjacent to critical structures such as organs and blood vessels.
