Hpets secures tens of millions in funding to accelerate commercialization of China-developed innovative pet drugs

Recently, Hpets Biotechnology, a company dedicated to innovative pet drug R&D, has secured tens of millions in funding. This round of financing was led by Triwise Capital, with the raised capital earmarked to advance clinical trials for the company's innovative therapeutics targeting pet infectious and gastrointestinal diseases.

In recent years, driven by the continuous rise of the "pet economy," the pet healthcare market has entered a phase of explosive growth. According to the 2023–2024 China Pet Industry White Paper, it is projected that over 30 million pets in China will enter middle and senior age in the next three years.

Founded in 2022, Hpets is headquartered in Chongqing and operates with a global perspective while rooted in the Chinese market. The company specializes in developing first-in-class and best-in-class innovative therapeutics for pets. Currently, Hpets is advancing a portfolio of innovative products targeting chronic diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic conditions, and next-generation antibiotics in pets. Among these, an innovative drug for treating pet infections and gastrointestinal diseases has already entered clinical trials. This drug features a novel target and mechanism of action, with no competing products targeting the same pathway currently available globally—making it a first-in-class therapeutic.
