Mindray and MicroPort Among Two Chinese Firms Listed in 2022 Global Medtech Big 100 as Both File New IPO Prospectuses

Medical Design & Outsourcing, a medical device industry website, released the 2022 ranking of the top 100 global medical device companies (2022 Medtech Big 100). Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and Siemens Healthineers retained their positions as the top three by revenue. The total annual revenue of the companies listed in the top 100 is approximately $440.9 billion, employing over 1.27 million people, with annual R&D investment exceeding $23.4 billion.

Among them, 53 companies from the United States made the list, 15 from Japan, 7 from Germany, 5 from Switzerland, 4 from Denmark, 3 from the United Kingdom, 2 each from Belgium, China, Ireland, and Sweden, and 1 each from New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

The highest-ranked company in China is Mindray, ranked 32nd, followed by MicroPort Medical, ranked 77th.
