December 1, 2022, Shanghai — Today, BD, a global leader in medical technology, and NanoString Technologies, a pioneer in global spatial biology, jointly announced the launch of a strategic collaboration in the field of single-cell spatial multi-omics. By combining their respective strengths, the partnership aims to provide one-stop technical tools and services for fundamental research, clinical studies, and biopharmaceutical development in China. This collaboration will integrate world-leading single-cell multi-omics and spatial omics technologies, focusing on future-oriented research and clinical application scenarios to create an end-to-end, full-chain solution.
Single-cell multi-omics enables researchers and clinicians to study transcriptomics, proteomics, immune repertoires, and mixed samples; while spatial omics further introduces the perspective of spatial distribution and structure. The combination of the two will reveal more details of life's complexity and can be widely applied in key areas of life and health such as oncology, immunology, virology, brain science, reproduction, dentistry, orthopedics, nephrology, intervertebral disc degeneration, and infectious diseases. It is also playing an increasingly important role in multiple fields such as botany, marine biology, and early rice panicle development.
