At the 2022 Medical Virology Conference of the Chinese Medical Association, Professor Zhang Wenhong from Huashan Hospital, Fudan University, affiliated with the National Center for Infectious Diseases, stated that the key to moving beyond the pandemic lies in protecting vulnerable populations and establishing an immune barrier. In the future, controlling the prevalence of the coronavirus may not rely on achieving zero cases through nucleic acid testing but rather on reducing the virus's pathogenicity to a very low level. Regarding how to enhance vaccine efficacy, Zhang Wenhong recommended choosing heterologous vaccination when administering the third booster shot. Additionally, he called for the initiation of fourth-dose vaccine campaigns in the future.
