Recently, MetaVision, a Shanghai-based health technology company, announced the completion of its RMB 50 million Series A financing round, jointly invested by BlueRun Ventures China and SinoPharm Capital.

It is reported that the proceeds of this round of financing will be mainly used for MetaVision's continuous R&D in myopia prevention and control products and technologies, expanding production scale to reach mass production, as well as the expansion of the expert team.

MetaVision was founded in 2017 and has been deeply engaged in the field of myopia prevention and control for children and adolescents since its establishment. Under the leadership of Professor Ningli Wang, the company's chief scientist and co-inventor of the distant imaging light screen, MetaVision launched its core product, the myopia prevention and control distant imaging light screen. MetaVision has deepened cooperation with Beijing Tongren Hospital and the National Ophthalmology Engineering Center, combining top medical expertise with cutting-edge optical technology to create a powerful tool for myopia prevention and control that changes the reading mode for children and adolescents.

MetaVision's Far-View Optical Screen adopts three core technologies: simulated long-distance HD imaging, digital spectral structure, and digital defocus & blur stimulation. Integrated with patented AR free-form surface technology, it enables children to view magnified, high-definition images and customized digital educational and entertainment content projected at a distance directly on the screen through optical principles and technological empowerment. This helps fundamentally prevent transient myopia caused by prolonged near-eye use, while reducing visual fatigue and spasm-induced myopia, avoiding the accumulation of transient myopia, thereby lowering the risk of myopia onset and progression. The Far-View Optical Screen fills a gap in the market for protecting hyperopia reserves and controlling myopia development in children and adolescents, making it an innovative high-tech medical device for myopia prevention and control.

MetaVision's far-field light screen has gained various industry accolades with its extraordinary capabilities. It was selected as one of the top ten advances in Chinese ophthalmology in 2021, awarded the "2021 Ophthalmic Science and Technology Progress Honor" by the China Association of Medical Equipment, and obtained a Class II medical device registration certificate in China. The product has been widely sold across China, receiving unanimous praise from parents and children alike.

MetaVision founder Yao Jun stated: "In the future, MetaVision Health will continue to leverage its leading optical technology capabilities and comprehensive myopia prevention and control solutions. We will continuously optimize our product portfolio, led by the 'Far-Field Light Screen,' and further enhance our integrated solution of 'hardware + software + services.' Collaborating with all sectors of society, we aim to connect families with hospitals, online with offline, and prevention with intervention. We are committed to advancing the standardization, accessibility, precision, digitalization, and intelligent development of myopia prevention and control efforts, building a high-quality, high-standard, and high-performance myopia prevention and control service system."
