Mersana Therapeutics Enters Cancer Therapy Development Agreement with Merck KGaA

Gelonghui December 23rd丨According to market news, Mersana Therapeutics, Inc. said on Thursday that it has signed an agreement with Merck KGaA to develop anti-cancer drugs, which could potentially generate milestone payments of up to $800 million. The company stated that Mersana will receive a $30 million upfront payment, which will be used to develop drugs known as Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs). ADCs combine monoclonal antibodies that target tumors with cytotoxic chemotherapy payloads, aiming for targeted destructive effects. Unlike traditional chemotherapy, ADCs are designed to protect healthy cells.
