Bloomberg reported that Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer, Inc., said at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference held in San Francisco on January 9 local time that they are working with Chinese partners to prepare for the provision of the COVID-19 oral drug Paxlovid in China starting from the first half of this year. Bourla said that the partner has not yet started production but will soon, and he did not disclose the name of the company. He also denied a Reuters report last week that some companies were striving to produce and sell generic versions of Paxlovid in China.
