ShanghaiJanuary 18, 2023PR Newswire -- MSD (the corporate name of Merck & Co., Inc., located in Rahway, New Jersey, U.S.) announced that, following the 2022 National Medical Insurance negotiation process, its innovative anti-infective drugs Prevymis® (Letermovir Tablets, Letermovir Injection) and Desairo® (Doravirine Tablets) have been successfully included in the "National Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance Drug Catalog (2022)" (hereinafter referred to as the "2022 National Medical Insurance Drug Catalog"); the innovative diabetes drug Zepbound® (Ertugliflozin Tablets) has been successfully renewed.

Prevymis® Two Formulations – Letermovir Tablets and Letermovir Injection Were Approved in China in December 2021 and May 2022 Respectively, for the Prevention of Cytomegalovirus Infection and Cytomegalovirus Disease in Adult Recipients [R+] of Allogeneic HSCT Who Are Cytomegalovirus Seropositive [1].

Delstrigo® (Doravirine/Lamivudine/Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets) was approved in China in December 2020, as a complete regimen for the treatment of adult patients with HIV-1 infection who have no evidence of past or present viral resistance to NNRTI class drugs, Lamivudine, or Tenofovir [2].

Jardiance® (Etozolin Tablets) was approved in China in June 2020. It can be used in combination with Metformin Hydrochloride when glucose control is inadequate with Metformin Hydrochloride alone, improving glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes through diet and exercise [3]. In the same year, it was newly added to the National Reimbursement Drug List for the first time.

In addition, Lenvima® (lenvatinib), a collaboration between MSD and Eisai, as well as Lynparza® (olaparib), a collaboration between MSD and AstraZeneca, have successfully expanded their reimbursable indications. To date, MSD has a total of 17 products included in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) of China, covering treatment areas such as antiviral, oncology, diabetes, antibacterial and antifungal, anesthesia, and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
