According to AstraZeneca's official WeChat account, Forxiga (generic name: dapagliflozin) has been approved in the EU to expand its indication for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) to cover the entire range of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), including heart failure with mildly reduced and preserved ejection fraction (HFmrEF, HFpEF).
According to reports, dapagliflozin has been approved in more than 100 regions worldwide, including the United States, the European Union, China, and Japan, for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D), heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, and chronic kidney disease. Recently, it received regulatory approval in the UK, Japan, and Turkey to expand the heart failure indication to patients across the full range of ejection fractions. Currently, applications for the expansion of the heart failure indication are under review in the United States and other countries.
