Recently, Xiushi Biopharma announced the completion of a Series A financing round totaling nearly RMB 100 million. This round was led by its existing shareholder Huatai Zijing, with additional investment from fellow existing shareholder Cui Capital. Jinding Capital and Arshine Group also participated as new investors.

The proceeds will be primarily used for two key strategic initiatives: First, to further strengthen the company's global market presence by enhancing its overseas business development and technical service network, deepening collaborations with global pharmaceutical companies, and elevating its service capabilities within the global biopharmaceutical supply chain. Second, to continuously increase R&D investment aimed at overcoming common industry technical bottlenecks and consolidating its technological leadership. Efforts will focus on innovative peptide molecules, positioning the company downstream of AI molecular design to enhance its integrated services spanning structural optimization, process development, commercial-scale manufacturing, and quality evaluation. This will address clients' diverse innovation needs, demonstrate Xiushi Biopharma's commitment to delivering technological value in the peptide field, and drive the co-creation of an innovative industry ecosystem.

Pioneering the Industrial Leap in Peptide Biosynthesis

Founded in 2020, Xiushi Biopharma is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in synthetic biology and innovative peptide synthesis. The company maintains a sharp focus on the peptide therapeutics sector and has established a proprietary platform for developing innovative peptide biosynthesis technologies based on the rational design of synthetic biological components. Leveraging profound technical expertise, Xiushi has consistently overcome R&D challenges, breaking industry bottlenecks in the biosynthesis of complex structured cyclic peptides. It has become the first company in China to achieve large-scale biosynthesis of complex short-peptide drugs.

Centered on the application of synthetic biology, Xiushi Biopharma has built over 5,000 square meters of AI-enabled R&D facilities and a 13,000-square-meter intelligent peptide drug production base. This infrastructure supports flexible manufacturing from gram-scale R&D samples to ton-scale commercial products, capable of meeting both small-batch clinical sample demands for multiple drug candidates and large-scale commercial supply requirements.

The convergence of these technological and commercial advancements has established Xiushi Biopharma as a leading enterprise in China's peptide biosynthesis sector, attracting significant attention from investment institutions. This financing round not only provides capital support but also brings global resources from the investors, which will offer comprehensive, systematic empowerment for Xiushi Biopharma's global peptide strategy and accelerate its internationalization process.

Regarding this funding round, Dr. Wu Yinsong, Chairman of Xiushi Biopharma, stated: "Xiushi Biopharma will continue to increase investment in peptide biosynthesis technology R&D. Through five years of development, the company has achieved the rare breakthrough of establishing a complete industrial chain from laboratory research to commercial application. We will remain focused on chronic and metabolic diseases, developing high-quality, cost-effective products through deepened collaboration with renowned pharmaceutical companies worldwide, making innovative drugs accessible to more patients. Simultaneously, we are leveraging our technological advantages in peptide synthetic biology to establish deeper partnerships with innovative drug and AI technology companies globally, aiming to become a crucial enabler in the innovative peptide molecule industrial chain."
