Vaccine Adjuvant R&D and Production Company

Private Equity Fund Management Institution
On November 21, 2025, BDSyn Biotech, a biotech company focused on the development and industrialization of innovative vaccine adjuvants, announced the successful completion of a Pre-A funding round exceeding 30 million. This round was led by LH Ventures. The raised funds will be primarily used to accelerate the construction of a GMP production base for chemically synthesized QS-21 and other adjuvant raw materials, advance global commercialization efforts, and further expand BDSyn's R&D pipeline in the field of novel adjuvants.
Adjuvants are often regarded as the "core chips" of modern vaccines. Among them, QS-21, a natural triterpenoid saponin derived from the Quillaja saponaria tree, is widely recognized as one of the most immunogenic adjuvants globally due to its ability to simultaneously elicit potent humoral and cellular immune responses. It serves as a critical component in several blockbuster vaccines, including those targeting shingles, RSV, and malaria. However, the supply of QS-21 has long relied on destructive harvesting of decades-old Quillaja trees, followed by complex and costly extraction and purification processes. This not only constrains supply and keeps prices high but also hinders large-scale, stable production and application due to the complex composition and mixture nature of the extracted material.
Led by seasoned vaccine and synthetic chemistry experts, BDSyn Biotech has achieved a groundbreaking milestone as the first globally to enable the industrial-scale chemical synthesis of QS-21. This innovation allows for consistent, high-volume production of ultra-high-purity QS-21 monomers at a lower cost and in a more environmentally sustainable manner. The synthetic product exhibits bioactivity highly consistent with natural extracts, while offering improved accessibility and enhanced safety, providing a reliable and advanced adjuvant solution for vaccine development.
Leveraging its core synthetic technology, BDSyn Biotech is positioning itself not merely as an adjuvant raw material supplier, but as a comprehensive adjuvant solution provider for global vaccine developers.
BDSyn Biotech has established a diversified pipeline comprising synthetic QS-21, QS-7, novel saponin derivatives, TLR agonists, and formulated adjuvant systems. Building on the team's extensive expertise in adjuvant screening, formulation development, and immunological evaluation, BDSyn Biotech offers clients an integrated "end-to-end" solution—from early discovery through preclinical development—significantly accelerating vaccine development timelines and enhancing the probability of technical success.
