According to Novartis AG, recently, Novartis' thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA) Revolade® (Eltrombopag Olamine Tablets) has been approved by the China National Medical Products Administration for patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA) who have had insufficient response to prior immunosuppressive therapy. Prior to this, Revolade® had already been approved in China for adult and pediatric patients aged 6 years and above with chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have had inadequate responses to treatments such as glucocorticoids and immunoglobulins, to increase platelet counts and reduce or prevent bleeding. The approval of this new indication will further expand the beneficiary population of Revolade®.
