Nuclear Medicine Development Platform Provider
Sichuan Micro Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Micro") recently announced the completion of an angel round amounting to tens of millions. This round of financing was jointly invested by Provincial Sci-Tech Venture Capital Academician Fund (省科创投院士基金), Western China Transformation Center for Advanced Technological Achievements, Xianyang Finance Investment, International Bio-Town Innovation, and Mairuike. The raised funds will be primarily allocated to the development of precision-controllable high-load radiopharmaceutical projects and the construction of a pilot platform for radiopharmaceuticals, leveraging microfluidic technology to advance the transformation of the radiopharmaceutical industry.

Micro is an innovative enterprise focusing on the fields of oncology and neurology. The company was co-founded by the Microfluidic Technology Research Team from Sichuan University and a team of nuclear medicine experts from West China Hospital of Sichuan University. It aims to break through existing technical bottlenecks and pioneer the application of microfluidic technology in the field of nuclear medicine. Microfluidic technology is a scientific approach that enables precise manipulation of fluids within micro/nano-scale spaces. Microchannels offer advantages such as high surface-area-to-volume ratio, enhanced mass transfer efficiency, continuous reaction capabilities, and improved safety due to enclosed channels. Meanwhile, radionuclides are characterized by extremely small quantities, high costs, radioactivity, and specific half-lives. Applying microfluidic technology to radionuclide separation and purification, as well as radiolabeling, demonstrates significant advantages.
Micro will establish a radiopharmaceutical pilot platform leveraging the distinct benefits of microfluidic technology in the preparation process of radioactive drugs. This platform will provide services including proof-of-concept validation, CRO, and CDMO for radiopharmaceutical R&D teams. These services encompass product concept verification, secondary development and maturation of technologies, biodistribution studies, quality research, product evaluation, and radiolabeling. The platform aims to attract nuclear medicine technology transfers from universities and research institutions across China and globally, thereby driving the advancement of the nuclear medicine industry.
