Eli Lilly and Company announced on March 1 that it will reduce the prices of its two best-selling insulin products—Humalog (insulin lispro injection) and Humulin (human insulin)—by 70%, effective in the fourth quarter. The list price of its non-branded Insulin Lispro Injection 100 units/mL will be reduced to $25 per vial, effective May 1 this year, making it the most affordable mealtime insulin. Starting immediately, Eli Lilly and Company will automatically cap the out-of-pocket costs for commercially insured patients using Lilly insulin at retail pharmacies to $35. Uninsured individuals can log on to the official website to download the Lilly Insulin Value Program savings card to obtain Lilly insulin for $35 per month.
