Plano, TexasMarch 8, 2023PR Newswire -- Argon Medical Devices, Inc., a leading provider of device solutions in the fields of interventional radiology, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, and oncology, has launched TRAVELER.®Portal Vein Access (门静脉入路) Series, the latest addition to its portal vein access product portfolio. This product line aims to meet the challenging needs of physicians accessing the portal vein through the liver during Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedures. TRAVELER complements Argon Medical Devices, Inc.'s successful launch of SCORPION in 2021, which also supports TIPS procedures.®

TRAVELER Aims to Enhance Component Visualization and Durability, Common Challenges in TIPS Procedures. According to Donna D'Souza, an interventional radiologist at the University of Minnesota, "The TRAVELER kit offers several innovative features that make it easier to access the portal vein compared to other kits on the market. First, the metal cannula is highly robust, and the shaping tool allows for significant curvature without compromising the integrity of the component. Second, the longer and sharper puncture needle facilitates easier penetration through severely fibrotic liver tissue, even in cases of highly distorted anatomy, ensuring successful access to the portal vein."

Argon Medical Devices President and CEO George Leondis said, "Our mission is to improve the lives of patients and caregivers by innovating, manufacturing, and delivering best-in-class medical devices. Therefore, when we discovered an opportunity to simplify the complex portal vein access procedure for our customers, we acted immediately. We are excited to introduce the TRAVELER series of new products and see these products positively impact portal vein access procedures and outcomes in line with our mission."

The TRAVELER series includes TRAVELER.16,TRAVELER21 and TRAVELER38, now available in the United States and Canada. Tom Younker, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Argon Medical Devices, stated: "With the increase in the incidence of cirrhosis, the number of TIPS procedures worldwide is also growing. The advantages offered by our TRAVELER product may make such procedures more efficient, serving both the interventional radiologists performing the surgeries and the patients they serve."

This is the first of several new products that Argon Medical Devices, Inc. is expected to launch in 2023.
