Intelligent Finance APP News, Sino Biopharm (01177) announced that F-star Therapeutics, Inc. (F-star, a subsidiary of Sino Biopharm) and Takeda have entered into a second licensing agreement for a next-generation novel cancer immunotherapy bispecific antibody.

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, F-star will receive licensing fees and grant Takeda a global exclusive license to utilize F-star's proprietary Fcab™ and mAb2™ platforms for researching, developing, and commercializing a bispecific antibody targeting cancer immunotherapy. Takeda will be responsible for all research, development, and commercialization activities under this agreement. F-star will receive an upfront licensing fee and is entitled to potential future development and commercialization milestone payments, as well as licensing fees based on annual net sales.

This licensing agreement is the second option exercised by Takeda under the evaluation and licensing agreement entered into with F-star Therapeutics in July 2021. F-star Therapeutics and Takeda have already entered into a licensing agreement for another bispecific antibody in July 2022.

The signing of the second licensing agreement with Takeda further demonstrates the significant potential of F-star's mAb2™ platform to generate a variety of next-generation bispecific antibody therapies, and highlights the shared vision of F-star and Takeda to develop groundbreaking bispecific immunotherapy drugs, enabling more cancer patients to live longer and better lives.
