Private Equity Investment Institution
Recently, Mingche Biotechnology announced the completion of a Series A financing round raising tens of millions of RMB. This round was invested by Nanjing Innovation Capital Group, Oriza Holdings, and Innoval Capital.
The proceeds will be allocated to the NMPA and CE registration of its core product—a minimally invasive glaucoma drainage device—and to the R&D of hydrogel drainage devices and implantable intraocular pressure sensors. Additionally, to accelerate the development of its ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) for refractive myopia correction, the funds will support ICL R&D, the construction of pilot production facilities, and clinical translation projects.
Established in 2021, Mingche Biotechnology is an innovative ophthalmic medical device company. Since its inception, the company has assembled a core team with 10–20 years of comprehensive experience across the entire industrial translation chain, including the R&D and production of Class III medical devices, quality systems, clinical medicine, marketing, and operations. Concurrently, Mingche maintains close, long-term collaborations with top-tier scientific advisors, including academicians from China and abroad, fostering multidisciplinary integration in biomaterials, intelligent manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and AI algorithms to drive rapid advancement in ophthalmology and minimally invasive devices.
Building Comprehensive Portfolio in Minimally Invasive Ophthalmology
Mingche Biotechnology has established a complete product pipeline addressing diseases in both the anterior and posterior segments through minimally invasive treatments. Its core pipeline includes a Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) product series, a microneedle for fundus retinal injection, a posterior chamber phakic refractive lens (ICL) with supporting system, and vascular interventional micro-nano robots.
The MIGS product series, as the cornerstone of Mingche's pipeline, has achieved multiple critical milestones. For instance, the efficacy and safety of its minimally invasive glaucoma drainage device have been validated through systematic clinical trials. The hydrogel drainage device not only offers enhanced mechanical properties and anti-fibrosis capability but also features a significantly optimized cost structure. The implantable intraocular pressure sensor, serving as an integrated "drainage + monitoring" solution, is compatible with other ophthalmic implants. By combining aqueous humor drainage, continuous IOP monitoring, and chronic disease management, it holds promise for enabling early diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of glaucoma.

Mingche's self-developed fundus injection/aspiration needle has already obtained Class II medical device registration approval. It offers minimally invasive, precise, and safe performance, meeting the surgical requirements for subretinal injection and aspiration. The company's posterior chamber phakic refractive lens and delivery system utilize a novel composite biomaterial that provides excellent protein anti-fouling properties, alongside high biocompatibility, flexible mechanics, and superior optical transparency.

Meanwhile, Mingche's vascular interventional micro-nano robot represents a highly integrated, novel surgical platform at an early R&D stage globally.

To date, Mingche's minimally invasive glaucoma drainage device has been included in the NMPA's Green Channel for innovative Class III medical devices, expediting its registration and review process. The posterior chamber phakic ICL and its supporting system have finalized material selection and manufacturing processes, entering the systematic validation phase. The vascular interventional micro-nano robot has undergone multiple rounds of large-animal studies and has received several national-level competition awards.
Gradually Expanding Global Markets
Regarding its future development strategy, Mingche Biotechnology stated that in ophthalmic product development, it will continue to focus on innovating devices characterized by minimal invasiveness, intelligence, and integrated diagnostics and treatment. Particular emphasis will be placed on technological breakthroughs related to presbyopia, addressing needs associated with the aging population.
Furthermore, Mingche plans to integrate its platform technologies—spanning MIGS, sensors, ICL, micro-nano robots, and microneedles—to develop combined product lines addressing a broader range of ocular diseases. The company aims to evolve into a platform-based enterprise offering integrated solutions covering diagnosis, treatment, and chronic disease management. Concurrently, Mingche will explore the potential for cross-disciplinary application of its core technologies, such as micro-nano robotics and precision drug delivery, into interventional fields like neurology and cardiology.
In terms of market expansion, Mingche will pursue a dual approach. Domestically, while establishing comprehensive product promotion, sales, technical service, and after-sales support systems, the company will deepen clinical and research collaborations with top-tier ophthalmic centers in China. Through interdisciplinary partnerships, collaborative innovation, and clinical studies, it aims to continuously refine and promote its innovative products while accumulating real-world evidence. Internationally, Mingche will gradually expand into global markets and actively participate in the formulation of relevant international industry standards, positioning itself for sustainable long-term growth both across China and worldwide.
