On May 20, Novartis China announced that its innovative breast cancer treatment drug, Kaylilon (Ribociclib Succinate Tablets), had recently been approved by the China National Medical Products Administration for an additional indication. It is indicated for hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, in combination with aromatase inhibitors as the initial endocrine therapy for female patients. When treating premenopausal or perimenopausal female patients with endocrine therapy, it should be used in combination with a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist. Thus, Kaylilon has become the first and currently the only CDK4/6 inhibitor in China to cover premenopausal/perimenopausal and postmenopausal populations in the first-line treatment of advanced breast cancer.
