Boosting Local Insulin Production, Deepening Commitment to Meet the Health Needs of Chinese Patients
This launch ceremony marks Sanofi®Local production has officially landed at the Beijing production base. The project involves a total investment of nearly 500 million RMB, with plans to build a new aseptic filling production line and upgrade and renovate the existing assembly production line. This will continuously expand the manufacturing capacity of insulin products, further increase local production capacity in China, enhance the innovation and accessibility of high-quality products, and better meet the treatment needs of Chinese diabetes patients. Local product assembly is expected to officially begin in the first quarter of 2024.
Diabetes Innovation Drug: Soliqua®[Insulin Glargine and Lixisenatide Injection (I)/(II)] was officially approved for marketing in China earlier this year. It took only four months to complete the entire production and market launch process, and the first prescriptions have recently been issued in many parts of China. This also means that patients with diabetes in China now have a new treatment option that balances blood sugar control, reduces the risk of hypoglycemia, and does not lead to weight gain.
