Pfizer

Pharmaceutical R&D Developer

On May 26, Pfizer reported the Phase I clinical data of KAT6A inhibitor PF-07248144 at ASCO 2023. Among 12 HR-positive breast cancer patients previously treated with CDK4/6i+ET, the single-agent ORR was 1/8, and the ORR in combination with fulvestrant was 2/4.

Magic Cube Analysis believes:

To date, numerous studies have demonstrated that KAT6A exhibits molecular dysregulation in various cancers and is considered a potential target for multiple diseases, including cancer. Previously, this target was categorized as "undruggable." Pfizer has made the fastest progress in this field, with clinical trial applications approved in China, showing promising preliminary data. Several companies within China, including Hengrui and Yingxi Intelligence, have already filed patents targeting KAT6A, though none have advanced to clinical stages.

About Opportunity Pool

The road to drug development is long and arduous, and the interaction between drug molecules and targets is often unknown. Among the 20,000+ targets discovered by the Human Genome Project, only about 10%-15% are considered disease-related. Scientists need to continuously explore and uncover the medical value of these targets to bring hope to more patients. PharmaCube also hopes to refine a key "key" to assist pharmaceutical companies in their R&D decision-making from multiple aspects.

Based on this, the global new drug data analysts from PharmCube conducted in-depth research on over 700 targets that are currently the most noteworthy, selected from more than 6,000 targets included in the NextPharma database. They systematically tracked these targets from various dimensions such as patents, literature, investment and financing, and transactions. The "Opportunity Pool" series of research reports was launched to monitor and analyze the global biotechnology landscape by tracking investments and transactions, helping companies choose suitable new technologies, enhance the efficacy of classical targets, or address undruggable targets that classical technologies cannot solve.
