Qilu Pharmaceutical's Posaconazole Injection Approved and Deemed Bioequivalent

Recently, Qilu Pharmaceutical's anti-infective drug, Posaconazole Injection, has been approved for marketing by the National Medical Products Administration and is deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation. So far, Qilu Pharmaceutical has a total of 133 products that have passed the consistency evaluation, 51 of which are the first in China.

It is reported that posaconazole is clinically used to treat invasive fungal infections and is a new generation of triazole antifungal drug. Compared with other triazole drugs, posaconazole has a broader antibacterial spectrum and stronger antibacterial activity. Compared with fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole and other drugs currently used in clinical treatment of invasive fungal infections, posaconazole has a longer side chain in its molecular structure and more action sites on the target enzyme. Posaconazole has a broad antibacterial spectrum, high bioavailability, and excellent antibacterial activity against Candida, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus, Blastospores, less common filamentous fungi, and yeasts. Therefore, posaconazole, as a second-generation triazole antifungal drug, has great clinical application potential.
