On July 25, it was announced that a research collaboration and licensing agreement had been reached with Astellas to discover novel protein degraders targeting two selected Astellas targets. Additionally, Astellas has the option to include three more targets within the scope of the collaboration.

The two companies plan to combine PeptiDream's PDPS (Peptide Discovery Platform System) technology with Astellas' drug discovery capabilities to identify next-generation protein degraders against multiple different targets. Astellas will be responsible for the development and commercialization of the products generated from the collaboration.

Under the agreement, Astellas will pay PeptiDream Inc. an upfront payment of 3 billion yen. PeptiDream is also eligible to receive up to 20.6 billion yen in discovery, development, and commercial sales milestone payments for each of the five targets. Including the 3 billion yen upfront payment, the total transaction value could reach 106 billion yen (808 million USD).
In June this year, Astellas reached a research collaboration and exclusive option agreement with Cullgen to develop multiple innovative protein degraders, with a total value exceeding 1.9 billion US dollars.
