On August 10, Amgen released its Q2 2023 financial report. The report showed that the total revenue for the second quarter reached 7 billion US dollars, increasing by 6% year-over-year; product sales volume grew by 11% year-over-year; non-GAAP earnings per share were 5 US dollars, increasing by 8% year-over-year.
According to reports, the recent financial report shows that strong global demand for Amgen's drugs drove the total product sales for the quarter to an all-time high, with sales volume increasing by 11%. Sales of nine drugs reached record highs for the quarter, with Prolia’s quarterly sales surpassing $1 billion for the first time. Moreover, robust growth in the Chinese and Japanese markets propelled a 27% increase in sales across the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, Amgen is also actively advancing its innovative product pipeline. Positive data has been newly obtained from trials of Tarlatamb for small cell lung cancer and LUMAKRAS in combination with Vectibix for colorectal cancer. Next, Amgen will also expand new indications for TEZSPIRE and BLINCYTO.
