Latest Research Progress Establishes New Standards for Lung Cancer Treatment
Basking Ridge, New Jersey, USAAugust 17, 2023PR Newswire -- Daiichi Sankyo (TSE: 4568) will present the latest clinical research on its DXd-ADC portfolio for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (#WCLC23) held by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) from September 9 to September 12, 2023.
Data presented at WCLC will highlight Daiichi Sankyo's progress in establishing new standards of care for patients with lung cancer, including primary results from the pivotal phase II HERTHENA-Lung01 study evaluating patritumab deruxtecan (HER3-DXd) in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer, and updated results from the phase Ib TROPION-Lung04 study evaluating datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) in combination with durvalumab with or without chemotherapy in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer without actionable genomic alterations. Data from both studies will be presented for the first time in oral presentations.
In addition, the latest data from other ongoing studies will be highlighted in oral presentations, including the primary analysis of the Phase II DESTINY-Lung02 study evaluating trastuzumab deruxtecan for the treatment of HER2-mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, and the latest data from a Phase I/II study evaluating ifinatamab deruxtecan (I-DXd) for the treatment of refractory SCLC.
At this year's World Conference on Lung Cancer, data from four DXd ADC drugs under Daiichi Sankyo continue to demonstrate the company’s commitment to bringing new standards of care for patients with various subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Daiichi Sankyo is highly anticipating the first presentation of key data from the HERTHENA-Lung01 study, which aims to evaluate the clinical data of patritumab deruxtecan in patients with EGFR-mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, as well as data from the TROPION-Lung04 study assessing the efficacy of datopotamab deruxtecan combined with durvalumab, with or without chemotherapy, in treating patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
At the same time, the company will also present ongoing research in poster form, including the Phase III studies TROPION-Lung08 and AVANZAR, which evaluate datopotamab deruxtecan combination regimens for the treatment of patients with metastatic NSCLC; as well as the Phase II study data evaluating ifinatamab deruxtecan for the treatment of patients with previously treated extensive-stage SCLC.
Daiichi Sankyo will hold an investor teleconference on September 11, 2023 (Monday) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Eastern Time (ET), which is September 12, 2023 (Tuesday) from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Japan Standard Time (JST). During the call, Daiichi Sankyo's management will outline the WCLC research data and address related questions.

About Daiichi SankyoDXd ADCProduct Portfolio
Daiichi Sankyo's DXd ADC portfolio currently comprises five ADC drugs in clinical development, covering various cancer types. The DXd ADCs in clinical research include Enhertu (HER2-targeted ADC) and datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd, TROP2-targeted ADC), which are being co-developed by Daiichi Sankyo and AstraZeneca for global commercialization. Additionally, the portfolio includes patritumab deruxtecan (HER3-DXd, HER3-targeted ADC). The other two ADCs, ifinatamab deruxtecan (I-DXd; DS-7300, B7-H3-targeted ADC) and raludotatug deruxtecan (R-DXd; DS-6000, CDH6-targeted ADC), are being developed through an early strategic research collaboration with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute.
Each ADC is designed using Daiichi Sankyo's proprietary DXd ADC technology, targeting cancer cells expressing specific cell surface antigens and delivering cytotoxic payloads into the cancer cells. Each ADC consists of a monoclonal antibody, a cleavable tetrapeptide linker, and several topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads (exatecan derivative, DXd).
Datopotamab deruxtecan, ifinatamab deruxtecan, patritumab deruxtecan, and raludotatug deruxtecan are all investigational drugs that have not been approved for any indication in any country/region. Their safety and efficacy have not been fully established.
