IVACTA Biotechnology, a global innovator in the field of in vivo cell therapy, recently announced the completion of an angel funding round exceeding 100 million RMB. This round was led by globally leading venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners, with participation from B Capital, Apricot Capital, and Shunxi Fund. The raised capital will be primarily used to advance the iteration and optimization of its core technology platform, as well as the clinical translation and development of its lead candidate product for autoimmune diseases.

Founded on June 25, 2025, IVACTA Biotechnology was established through a spin-out of the in vivo CAR-T platform from GRIT Biotechnology. Leveraging a targeted LNP delivery system, IVACTA's in vivo CAR-T therapy is dedicated to delivering transformative treatments for hematologic malignancies and autoimmune diseases. This approach enables direct CAR expression within a patient's T cells, eliminating the need for traditional autologous CAR-T procedures such as cell separation, expansion, and lymphodepletion preconditioning. By addressing the three core limitations of autologous CAR-T therapy—high cost, lengthy timelines, and significant toxicity—at their source, the technology has the potential to drastically shorten treatment cycles. It represents an evolution toward off-the-shelf cell therapies, substantially improving patient accessibility.
Furthermore, IVACTA Biotechnology's targeted LNP delivery system demonstrates outstanding performance in precision, safety, and manufacturing compatibility. Through its unique technological approach, the system enhances T-cell targeting efficiency, effectively reduces off-target risks, and supports scalable production. The self-developed targeting technology enables efficient T-cell activation and sustained CAR expression, showing excellent B-cell depletion in multiple preclinical models along with favorable safety profiles upon repeated dosing. The lead candidate has already entered clinical trials and has generated positive preliminary human data.
As the lead investor in this round, Qiming Venture Partners has long been deeply engaged in healthcare innovation, with a strategic focus on cutting-edge technologies including cell therapy and gene delivery. Dr. Chen Kan, Partner and Co-Head of Healthcare Innovation at Qiming Venture Partners, stated: "IVACTA's technological approach addresses the fundamental challenges of conventional CAR-T therapies. Its targeted LNP delivery platform demonstrates globally competitive potential in targeting efficiency, safety, and manufacturing compatibility. We are confident in Dr. Liu Yarong's team's extensive industrial experience in cell therapy and the R&D efficiency enabled by GRIT Biotechnology's FTE model. Leveraging our global industry network, we will support IVACTA in accelerating clinical advancement and international collaboration, helping Chinese innovation gain a leading position globally."
Dr. Liu Yarong, Founder and CEO of IVACTA Biotechnology, expressed: "We appreciate the trust from Qiming Venture Partners and all participating investors. As seasoned pioneers in China's cell therapy field, our team remains dedicated to addressing unmet clinical needs through technological innovation. IVACTA's in vivo CAR-T approach represents a significant step toward making cell therapy 'off-the-shelf' and broadly accessible. This funding will accelerate the clinical validation of IVACTA and its in vivo CAR-T pipeline. Moving forward, we will continue upholding our philosophy of 'insightful need identification and independent innovation,' striving to deliver more innovative treatment options for patients."
