Xinhua News Agency (reporter Zhang Zhaohui) -- On September 2, GE Healthcare showcased multiple medical imaging devices at the 3rd Hall of Shougang Park during the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (referred to as "CIFTIS").
At this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services, GE Healthcare is highlighting a series of domestically produced products under its "Full Localization, Boundaryless Innovation" strategy. These include the innovative "Pioneer CT" from the Beijing Imaging Equipment Manufacturing Base, PET/CT products from the high-end molecular imaging equipment line, and the latest premium 3.0T Genesis MRI from the Tianjin base. Additionally, the company is showcasing its "Smart Service" digital solutions for equipment operation and management.
The advanced CT is designed to meet the high-volume imaging needs of outpatient and emergency departments. Equipped with a 40mm digital retina detector, it can complete a full brain scan in 2 seconds, a full lung scan in 3 seconds, continuous scans of the chest/abdomen/pelvis in 5 seconds, and a whole-body scan in 10 seconds, providing high-definition imaging of the entire body. This makes it widely applicable to diagnostic scenarios involving the elderly, critically ill patients, hearing-impaired individuals, and respiratory diseases, positioning it as the new-generation main CT model for outpatient and emergency settings.
The Genesis SIGNA™ Architect with DL, a high-end research-oriented 3.0T MRI product developed by GE Healthcare and manufactured in China, is the first domestic MRI device to incorporate AIR Recon DL, a deep learning artificial intelligence technology. It can separate noise from valid signals at the raw data stage, achieving a fourfold increase in signal-to-noise ratio (the higher the signal-to-noise ratio, the clearer the images become). With the improved signal-to-noise ratio, the detection capability for small lesions under 2mm, such as pituitary microadenomas and intracranial multiple sclerosis, is significantly enhanced, while also enabling faster scanning speeds. Additionally, the Genesis MRI system features the AIR "Magic Carpet" coil, which provides a denser distribution of coil unit channels. Its soft and conforming characteristics make patient examinations more comfortable and signal acquisition more precise.
PET/CT Discovery Future is the latest representative of GE Healthcare's high-end nuclear medicine molecular imaging equipment production line at its Beijing imaging device manufacturing base. It features 25mm-thick crystal material, which can improve photon collection efficiency by 60%, enabling clinical applications to obtain high-definition, low-dose images of lesions in areas such as tumors, the heart, and the nervous system with ultra-high sensitivity. The device also includes a built-in 4D digital gating system, 5D vector analysis system, and 5D flexible calibration platform, allowing for a single 3-minute breath-hold image acquisition, significantly enhancing the accuracy of lesion volume measurement and SUV quantification.
A relevant person in charge of GE Healthcare stated that GE Healthcare will produce more innovative products in Beijing and Tianjin, serving the prevention and treatment of serious diseases and the implementation of precision medicine. This will drive the upgrading of the domestic medical device manufacturing industry chain, provide strong momentum for Beijing's "two zones" construction and the high-quality development of the healthcare industry, support the implementation of the Healthy China strategy with "Beijing-Tianjin manufactured" precision medical products, and explore a path to modernize universal health through a firm commitment to "comprehensive localization."
