Recently, the National Center for Clinical Laboratories (NCCL) of the National Health Commission of China released the 2023 External Quality Assessment Report on Bioinformatics Analysis of High-Throughput Sequencing Detection of Somatic Mutations in Tumors in China.
Decode DNA Lab Perfectly Passed with 100 Points in the Bioinformatics Analysis External Quality Assessment on Both BGI and Illumina Sequencing Platforms! This recognition by authoritative institutions fully demonstrates the strong multi-sequencing platform bioinformatics analysis capabilities of Decode DNA, proving that Decode DNA maintains industry-leading standards in operational norms, process control, quality supervision, and technology development.
NCCL Tumor Somatic Mutation High-Throughput Sequencing Detection Bioinformatics Analysis -BGI Platform
NCCL Tumor Somatic Mutation High-Throughput Sequencing Detection Bioinformatics Analysis -Illumina Platform
The National Center for Clinical Laboratories (NCCL) of the National Health Commission of China organizes the national external quality assessment, which is the most authoritative in China and an important part of the comprehensive quality management system for clinical laboratories recognized internationally.
The NCCL-organized Inter-laboratory Quality Assessment Program for Bioinformatics Analysis of High-throughput Sequencing Detection of Somatic Mutations in Tumors is an essential means to ensure the quality of testing in clinical laboratories. It can determine the bioinformatics analysis capabilities of participating laboratories in high-throughput sequencing detection of somatic mutations in tumors, identify common issues in bioinformatics analysis as well as specific problems in certain laboratories, and promote the improvement of bioinformatics analysis standards in laboratories.
This inter-laboratory quality assessment covers various types of mutations, mainly evaluating the laboratory's ability to detect somatic mutation sites in samples, including single nucleotide variants (SNV), deletions (Deletion), insertions (Insertion), and complex mutations (Complex).
A total of 223 laboratories from 25 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) in China participated in this quality assessment, among which only 38 institutions reported the quality assessment results for two or more sequencing platforms.
Decoding DNA
Dual Platforms, Dual Perfect Scores
Decode DNA simultaneously possesses the two mainstream NGS platforms: BGI and Illumina. To ensure the reliability of the results delivered by the two sequencing platforms, Decode DNA chose to participate in this NCCL external quality assessment with both platforms simultaneously. The submitted analysis results were completely consistent with the official standard answers, and both platforms passed with full marks!
Decoding DNA has always adhered to high standards and strict requirements, establishing a comprehensive quality control system to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and safety of testing. For many consecutive years, it has excelled in capability assessments and external quality evaluation programs by authoritative institutions such as CAP, NCCL, and SCCL. In the future, Decoding DNA will continue to maintain high standards, providing high-quality products and professional services, empowering the genetic industry, and contributing to the advancement of human health.
