Yangtze River Delta Digital-Driven Innovative Biopharmaceutical Industry Chain Alliance Officially Established to Promote Inter-City Collaborative Development

On September 4, the "Yangtze River Delta Digital-Driven Innovative Biopharmaceutical Industry Chain Alliance" (hereinafter referred to as the Alliance) was officially established in Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang). Chen Kaixian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, relevant leaders from the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang), the Yangtze River Delta Entrepreneurs Alliance, and nearly 30 member representatives of the Alliance attended the event.

It was introduced that the alliance has Chen Kaixian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Tan Weihong, director and academician of the CAS Institute of Medicine, as honorary chairmen. The first group of standing directors/board members includes representatives from prominent biopharmaceutical enterprises such as Hangzhou Newanjin Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Kangwanda Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Nurotron Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Shimai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Enitiatebio, Jiaxing Heji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., SynRx Therapeutics, LLC., Groovy Medicine, AIMed, Rona Therapeutics, JSI, NEUREGEN, and SLANHEALTH.

The Yangtze River Delta region is a traditional advantageous cluster area for China's biopharmaceutical industry and is currently at a critical stage of upgrading from local clustering to regional collaboration. According to the China Biomedical Industry Development Index CBIB 2.0 released by Huo Shi Creation, seven national high-tech zones and economic development zones, including Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and Hangzhou High-Tech Zone, have been selected as the top 20 key high-tech zones and economic development zones in China; eight industrial parks have been selected as the top 20 key industrial parks in China. These key high-tech zones, economic development zones, and key industrial parks contribute more than 40% of the innovative drugs that have been listed in China and products under research, and the market value of listed companies accounts for more than 40% of the national total.

The newly established alliance aims to assist government decision-making, pool industrial resources, and serve enterprise needs. It will drive the differentiated layout and inter-city collaborative innovation development of the Yangtze River Delta's biopharmaceutical industry through data, expedite close cooperation among upstream and downstream partners in the industrial chain alliance, and help ensure the efficient allocation of industrial resources across the three provinces and one municipality of the Yangtze River Delta. The alliance will fully leverage the empowering, intelligent, and value-adding roles of digital technology, deepen the construction of industrial brains and future factories, integrate industrial digital governance with the creation of an innovative ecosystem for small and medium-sized enterprises, and promote cross-sector integration of digitalization in the biopharmaceutical industry. At the same time, it will support the high-end development of the biopharmaceutical industry and explore the resource utilization, assetization, and capitalization of biopharmaceutical data.

On the same day, the Yangtze River Delta Digital-Driven Innovative Biopharmaceutical Industry Chain Alliance completed the landing and signing ceremony with the Hangzhou Binjiang District People's Government. The Secretariat of the alliance is located in Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang). After its establishment, it will carry out regular operations to further unleash the potential of integrated development between the digital economy and the bioeconomy, building a biopharmaceutical industry exchange platform with influence across China and even globally. It is reported that this year, the alliance will also hold the first Yangtze River Delta Biopharmaceutical Industry Conference.
