Early-stage venture capital institution
Hangzhou Ruier Weikang Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "WECARE MEDICAL") announced that it completedTens of Millions of RMB Pre-A Round Financing, byNuoyu CapitalLeading investment, old shareholdersWell-known angel investor Ye HuahuaLife Investment,Dianshi CapitalServed as the exclusive financial advisor. The funds raised in this round will be used to advance the development of non-invasive deep brain stimulation neuromodulation products based on Temporal Interference (TI), expand the brain science treatment product pipeline, upgrade and iterate the Biovital digital health general technology platform, and build production, sales, and marketing teams.

WECARE MEDICAL was founded in 2021, focusing on the research and development and sales of products for disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment in the field of brain science. After years of clinical research and technical accumulation, starting with the monitoring and quantitative evaluation of epileptic and Parkinson's seizures, it took four years to independently develop a wristband-style multimodal signal acquisition device, seizure monitoring algorithms, and a visual data analysis management system, gradually forming a universal digital health technology platform based on multimodal signals. Meanwhile, WECARE MEDICAL has mastered non-invasive deep brain neuromodulation technology based on temporal interference (TI), completing the closed-loop chain from "reading the brain" (Reading) to "writing the brain" (Intervening).
Currently, WECARE MEDICAL has developed two major technological platforms: digital health and non-invasive neuromodulation, establishing a closed-loop system for in-hospital diagnosis, full-course monitoring, and in- and out-of-hospital treatment of brain diseases. It has obtained 9 invention patents, published 6 core articles, participated in 3 national key R&D programs, 1 National Natural Science Foundation project, and 4 provincial and ministerial-level research projects in this field.
Neurologists and scientists have long hoped to develop a non-invasive treatment product capable of precise, focused modulation of any area of the brain. This would meet the exploration needs for stimulation targets and methods for different diseases and improve disease treatment levels through non-invasive technological means. Therefore, an ideal non-invasive neuromodulation product should satisfy the following characteristics:
(1) Stimulation area: can be large or small, deep or shallow, single or multiple;
(2) Clear Mechanism: The circuits and mechanisms of neuromodulation can be clearly explained;
(3) Easy to use: Clinical applications can extend from within the hospital to outside the hospital.
In June 2017, Professor Boyden's team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology published a significant paper in the journal Cell, with Dr. Grossman as the first author. The study innovatively adopted Temporal Interference (TI) technology to achieve non-invasive deep brain stimulation, providing a novel solution to fundamentally address the bottleneck issue of insufficient depth in non-invasive neuromodulation. This breakthrough is expected to lead the development trend of non-invasive deep brain stimulation technology.
Specifically, the technology is based on the characteristic of brain neurons not responding to high-frequency signals. It utilizes the physical principle that when two sine currents of similar frequencies meet, they partially cohere and form a low-frequency "envelope" electric field, with the frequency of this "envelope" being the difference between the two. This allows for precise stimulation of targeted deep brain regions, a technique also known as Temporal Interference (TI) stimulation. The prototype design includes an electrical stimulator and auxiliary software, which deliver kHz sine currents into the brain through multiple pairs of electrodes. The superimposed modulation of electric fields forms a low-frequency envelope, enabling跨越式 neural modulation of deep brain areas. Compared to transcranial Direct/Alternating Current Stimulation (tDCS/tACS), which has limited spatial accuracy, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), which has lower intervention precision, TI electrical stimulation combines spatial targeting with non-invasiveness. It can simultaneously meet clinical needs for non-invasiveness, deep-brain stimulation, high precision, and multi-targeting, effectively addressing market pain points.
Overall, TI technology can not only be used in the future for the treatment of various neuropsychiatric diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and depression, but also provides an excellent method for further deciphering human brain functions and mapping the human brain atlas.

Principle of Time Interference Stimulation
To address the current technical gap in non-invasive electrical stimulation modulation for precise deep brain stimulation, WECARE MEDICAL has initiated the development of a clinical treatment product for deep brain electrical stimulation based on Temporal Interference (TI). The research and development team has invested five years in TI technology, completing a series of work including prototype development, phantom testing, animal experiments, human safety validation, personalized electrode optimization and positioning algorithms, as well as intracranial focused electric field verification. The company is now in a leading position in China.

Based on years of clinical achievements and user accumulation in the field of out-of-hospital monitoring for brain diseases, and with a deep understanding of conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and sleep disorders, WECARE MEDICAL has made significant progress in advancing the globally cutting-edge TI technology. Currently, it has established two major technological platforms: digital health and neuromodulation.
WECARE MEDICAL's Digital Health Technology Platform Includes In-Hospital Diagnostics, Out-of-Hospital Full-Course Monitoring, and a Next-Generation Closed-Loop Neuromodulation Treatment System, Covering Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, and Other Brain Disorders. China Has Approximately 10 Million Epilepsy Patients and 3 Million Parkinson’s Patients. Although Significant Progress Has Been Made in Disease Diagnosis and Treatment in Recent Years, There Is Still a Lack of Effective Monitoring Alarms and Objective Quantitative Evaluation Tools for Managing Disease Aspects Such as Out-of-Hospital Seizure Monitoring, Medication Adherence, and Treatment Efficacy. Additionally, Due to National Security Restrictions on the Export of Patient Data, Imported Monitoring Devices Are Temporarily Unable to Enter the Domestic Market, Highlighting the Urgent Need for a Digital Revolution in China-Produced Brain Function Disorder Monitoring Equipment.
To fill the gap in this field and meet the clinical needs of a large number of patients, WECARE MEDICAL relies on the Biovital watch to monitor and alert disease attacks. Through its self-developed digital health technology platform "WECARE MEDICAL Cloud," it quantitatively evaluates the frequency of patient attacks and visualizes treatment efficacy, utilizing the platform for data analysis and long-term outcome prediction. As WECARE MEDICAL's core product, the Biovital watch can synchronously collect seven modalities, making it the only wristband-type acquisition device in China with the richest modality signals among similar products globally.
In terms of software, through a large number of algorithms to extract patterns from signals, model building usually takes 2-3 years, with time and complexity as barriers. WECARE MEDICAL has currently accumulated three major model systems: basic vital signs models (including respiration, heart rate, heart rate variability, body temperature, blood oxygen, etc.), daily activity models (activity, sleep, emotional indicators), and specialized disease models (epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders, etc.). The series of products are currently undergoing commercial sales and multi-center clinical trials.
Based on wristwatch monitoring devices and a digital health technology platform, WECARE MEDICAL will gradually provide products and services for monitoring, screening, and intervention闭环 for brain diseases such as epilepsy, Parkinson's, depression, and sleep disorders.The first epilepsy wristband monitoring device has been commercialized.

WECARE MEDICAL stated:"Thanks to the recognition and support from both new and existing shareholders, WECARE MEDICAL remains committed to dedicated research and development in the field of brain science. The company has established barriers in three dimensions: first, the technical requirements for algorithms and hardware; second, a precise understanding of clinical product needs and patient demands; and third, years of accumulated professional clinical services and clinical resources. The company has formed two major technology platforms—digital health and neuromodulation—that align with the most cutting-edge technologies overseas, filling the gap for domestically produced products. The company has comprehensively expanded into brain science areas such as Parkinson's disease and sleep disorders, and has started developing therapeutic products in the field of neuroscience. Among these, the development progress of deep brain neuromodulation products based on Temporal Interference (TI) technology is leading domestically."
Yang Zhiwen, founding partner of Nuoyu Capital, stated:"Twenty-seven years of clinical practice of DBS have fully demonstrated that neuroelectrical stimulation is currently the most effective neuromodulation technology for treating movement disorders. Due to the invasive nature and high cost of DBS, the market has been anticipating a non-invasive and cost-controllable neuromodulation product. TI is expected to become another promising neuromodulation technology following DBS. It delivers low-frequency waves with therapeutic modulation effects into the deep brain by 'wrapping' low-frequency waves with high-frequency waves, enabling neuromodulation of deep brain nuclei in a non-invasive manner. This allows a beam of electrical pulses to be accurately delivered into the deep brain without invasion, replicating all treatment parameters of DBS. The combination of precision and non-invasiveness makes TI technology a milestone in the search for new targets and multi-target combined modulation. WECARE MEDICAL has already made significant progress in Parkinson's disease and epilepsy wristband management, accumulating profound expertise in both inpatient and outpatient management of these two conditions. The integration of TI technology can fully merge with previous operations, thereby forming a complete commercial closed loop in the fields of Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy. We look forward to greater achievements from the WECARE MEDICAL team in this field."
Famous angel investor Mr. Ye Huahua said:"Since participating in the angel round financing of WECARE MEDICAL, this is already the second cooperation with WECARE MEDICAL. WECARE MEDICAL has an excellent, efficient, and experienced team, and we are also very optimistic about the company’s full-process layout in disease diagnosis, regulation, treatment, and monitoring within the field of brain science. We look forward to WECARE MEDICAL's products being more widely launched in the market."
