It is reported that Baixi Ousi (Beijing) Biological Technology Co., Ltd. is a company dedicated to developing tumor biotherapy businesses, including tumor immunotherapy, biopharmaceuticals,Biological ReagentsResearch and Development,Biological ProductsIn multiple fields such as transformation and application, the company's product types mainly focus on the research and development of peptide drugs and macromolecular drugs.

Among them, BXOS110 is a peptide-based PSD-95 inhibitor independently developed by Baixi Ousi (Beijing) Biological Technology Co., Ltd., used for emergency treatment of acute ischemic stroke within 24 hours of onset. The drug is currently in Phase II clinical research, and there are no similar products available globally at present. Its only competitor targeting the same point is NA-1 from Canadian company NoNO. It is reported that if BXOS110 is successfully approved, it will become the first domestically produced PSD-95 inhibitor to be marketed in China and the second globally.

The industry believes that PSD-95 inhibitors have potentially broad application prospects and can be used to treat various nervous system-related diseases, such as anxiety-depressive behaviors, cognitive dysfunction, etc. As the market's understanding of central nervous system diseases continues to deepen, the development of PSD-95 inhibitors is advancing, with the potential to meet patients' clinical needs, indicating a vast market space. According to data from Grand View Research, the global neurological drugs market size reached 149.4 billion US dollars in 2019 and is expected to grow to 221.3 billion US dollars by 2026.

According to this capital increase agreement, the Phase III clinical trial sample production, post-approval production, and sales promotion of Baixi Ousi's innovative drug BXOS110, a neuroprotective peptide for the treatment of stroke, should be entrusted to Science Sun.

For this transaction, Science Sun believes that it has strong synergy with the company's strategic development direction, which is beneficial for resource integration and utilization.

It is worth mentioning that Science Sun and Baixi Ousi are not engaging in their first transaction. As early as May 2021, Science Sun announced that it had signed the "Equity Transfer Agreement" with Baixi Ousi and Wei Hui. The company subscribed to 307,600 yuan of Baixi Ousi's registered capital for 6 million yuan, holding 2.35% of Baixi Ousi’s equity. Now, two years later, Science Sun has increased its investment in this enterprise which owns peptide drugs, demonstrating its confidence in BXOS110 and determination to deeply cultivate the neurology drug market.

Public information shows that the main business of Science Sun is the R&D, production, and sales of injectable formulations. Its leading products are biopharmaceuticals and biochemical medicines, covering three major therapeutic areas: cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, immune-related diseases (anti-tumor), and nervous system diseases.

In the field of neurology, the company's main neurological drug product is "Saidian" Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside Sodium Injection (GM-1), which is primarily used to treat vascular or traumatic central nervous system injuries and Parkinson's disease. In terms of market share, the sales revenue of its Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside Sodium Injection has declined, but since its domestic launch, this product has provided a medication option for patients with brain injuries, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and cerebral infarction in repairing neural tissues.

The 2023 semi-annual report shows that the company achieved operating revenue of 272 million yuan in the first half of the year, a year-on-year decrease of 29.04%; net profit was 250 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.47%.
