Recently, focusing on the application of innovationStem CellsTheia Therapeutics, a company specializing in gene therapy for ophthalmic diseases, announced the completion of an angel round of financing worth tens of millions of RMB. This round of financing was led byBeijing Zhongfa Lingchuang·Life Science Park Venture CapitalFund("Beijing Life Science Park Ventures" for short)Exclusive Investment. This round of funding will mainly be used to advance its stem cell therapy pipeline and team building.
On September 18, to accelerate the company's R&D progress, the company recently signed an agreement with Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Beijing Ophthalmology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Tongren Hospital and Ophthalmology Research Institute") during the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) regarding the technology transfer cooperation for novel retinal treatments. A strategic cooperation agreement was also signed on the clinical transformation of pluripotent stem cells and the development of new ophthalmic drugs.
Through the signing of this agreement, all parties will further improve the cooperative team, deepen industry-university-research collaboration, and jointly promote the development and application of stem cell-related technologies in the treatment of eye diseases.
