On September 19, Baidu released the first "industry-level" medical large model in China — Lingyi Large Model, and announced the opening of evaluation and trial use of Lingyi Large Model to the greater health industry, promoting the digitalization and intelligent process of the medical industry.
Lingyi Large Model Focuses on Three Directions: Intelligent Health管家, Intelligent Doctor Assistant, and Intelligent Enterprise Services, Providing AI-Native Applications for Patients, Hospitals, Enterprises, etc. It is Reported That Lingyi Large Model Can Generate Structured Medical Records in Seconds by Combining Free Text, and Generate Chief Complaints, Present Illness Histories, and Other Contents Based on Doctor-Patient Dialogue Analysis. In Addition, Lingyi Large Model Supports Simultaneous Parsing of Multiple Chinese and English Documents, Achieving Intelligent Question-Answering Based on Document Parsing Content. In Terms of Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment, Lingyi Large Model Can Understand the Patient's Condition Through Multi-Round Dialogues, Assist Doctors in Real-Time Disease Diagnosis, Recommend Treatment Plans, and Provide Intelligent Customer Service to Become a 24-Hour "Health管家" for Patients.
He Mingke, Senior Vice President of Baidu Group and President of the Health Business Group, stated that the Lingyi Large Model has already reached cooperation with many clients and has been selectively opened for trial to more than 200 medical institutions, including public hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical device enterprises, internet hospital platforms, and chain pharmacies.

"Model as a service, Lingyi Large Model aims to build a multi-level product system native to AI," said Liu Junwei, General Manager of Baidu's Greater Health Business Group AI Industry Department. "The pre-trained Lingyi Large Model, based on data, has powerful open capabilities, supporting ecosystem partners with API calls and plugin integration to provide end-users with complete services."
According to reports, the Lingyi Large Model is built on Baidu's Wenxin Large Model as its technical foundation. By combining data with evidence-based AI technology, it emphasizes evidence-based traceability and relies on Baidu’s accumulated medical and health data and medical knowledge covering the entire "medical-patient-pharmaceutical" scenario. This includes desensitized medical records, literature guidelines, and medical knowledge graph data from offline diagnosis and treatment scenarios, as well as popular science knowledge, health encyclopedias, health consultation data, and pharmaceutical device data from online scenarios. Supported by training materials, it ensures that the large model's responses are traceable. Currently, the Lingyi Large Model has launched three versions: Lite, Flagship, and Customized, catering to different needs and application scenarios.
