Junshi Biosciences and Mead Johnson China Unveil Breakthrough Research on Precision Nutrition Health Management at the 14th Asian Congress of Nutrition

Dr. Sa Xu, Chief Scientist and Innovation Officer of Mead Johnson Nutrition (China) Co., Ltd.Introduction: The subjects of this study were individuals experiencing bloating, reduced bowel movements, no severe diseases, and no history of abdominal surgery. The aim was to reveal changes in the gut microbiota before and after intervention. Using Xbiome's human gut microbiome research platform, researchers conducted sensory questionnaires and baseline stool sample tests on the aforementioned population, followed by a 21-day microbiome intervention. After the intervention, indicators such as microbial diversity, characteristic bacteria, SCFA, fecal bile acids, and calprotectin were measured in the participants.

The results showed that among the 45-55 age group, 75% of the participants experienced an increase in microbiota diversity during the intervention. Among the test population aged 45-65, there was a significant increasing trend in beneficial bacteria and immune-related bacterial genera. In all age groups of subjects tested, 60% showed a decrease in harmful bacteria.
