Gelonghui September 25 | The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday endorsed Pfizer's respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine for use in pregnant women in the second to third trimester to protect their infants from severe illness. RSV is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild cold-like symptoms but can also lead to severe illness and hospitalization. Pfizer stated that the market price for the maternal vaccine is $295 per dose, with plans to adopt a tiered pricing strategy outside the United States.
