Cell and Gene Therapy Drug Developer

Recently, BRL Medicine Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "BRL Medicine"), a company focused on gene and cell therapy, in collaboration with the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, completed the latest follow-up for the first patient participant, "Mr. Sun" (pseudonym), in the world’s first clinical trial titled "PD1-Knockout Non-Viral Targeted Integration CD19-CART Cell Therapy for Relapsed or Refractory Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma." All examination results met the criteria, showing sustained complete remission, and Mr. Sun has survived cancer-free for over three years. Notably, the CAR-T treatment product Mr. Sun received was developed by BRL Medicine based on their self-developed non-viral targeted integration CAR-T platform (Quikin CART®). This CD19-targeting non-viral PD1-CAR-T product (pipeline code: "BRL-201") is the world's first autologous CAR-T cell product that achieves targeted genomic integration at the PD1 site and knocks out the PD1 gene without using a viral vector. The research findings were published on August 31, 2022, in the prestigious international journal Nature and were recognized as one of the "Top Ten Hematology Research Advances in China in 2022" and one of the "Major Medical Advances in China in 2022."
