Autoimmune Disease (AID), abbreviated as "self-immune," refers to diseases caused by immune responses to self-antigens leading to damage of one's own tissues. The overall incidence of AID accounts for 5-9% of the global population, with about 5%-8% in the United States and approximately 2-3% in China. Clinical studies both domestically and internationally have reported that autologous CAR-T cells (chimeric antigen receptor T-cells) targeting CD19 can specifically bind to the CD19 antigen on the surface of B cells. Through antibody-dependent or complement-dependent cytotoxic effects, they eliminate B cells, thereby effectively reducing the levels of inflammatory mediators in the body, exerting specific immunosuppressive therapeutic effects, and effectively treating autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM).
