Novo Nordisk Initiates Phase 3 Trial of CagriSema (Cagrilintide + Semaglutide) in Type 2 Diabetes and Files Related Regulatory Submission

This Phase III clinical trial plans to enroll 2,700 patients with type 2 diabetes and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The Phase III clinical trial has set two dosage groups for the CagriSema compound: 1.0mg/1.0mg and 2.4mg/2.4mg, while also comparing head-to-head with semaglutide monotherapy. In the GLP-1 field, Eli Lilly holds a stronger advantage; its dual-target Tirzepatide has outperformed semaglutide and has already been approved for marketing. Small-molecule GLP-1R agonists and GLP-1R/GIPR/GCGR triple-target agonists have both entered the Phase III clinical stage.
