On October 4, Eli Lilly announced new personnel appointments:Diabetes and ObesityCareerDepartmentExecuteVice President andPresident'sMike Mason to retire at the end of 2023; current Executive Vice President,President of Immunology andPresident of Eli Lilly and Company in the United StatesPatrik Jonsson will take overMike Mason's work, the appointmentEffective from January 1, 2024.

Mike Mason has worked at Eli Lilly and Company for 34 years. Over the past 20 years, Mason has been leading the neuroscience and diabetes operations at Eli Lilly, helping these businesses achieve significant growth and establish a leading market position. In the past four years, within the diabetes and obesity division of Eli Lilly,MasonResponsible forMounjaro(tirzepatide)The late-stage development and the marketing efforts for the diabetes indication have been completed, while full preparations have been made for the marketing of the drug's weight-loss indication.
Eli Lilly's Chief Scientific Officer and President of Research Laboratories, Daniel Skovronsky, M.D., Ph.D., will take over as President of Immunology at Eli Lilly from Jonsson. Skovronsky will oversee the therapeutic areas of dermatology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology, including marketed products and Phase III drugs.
In addition,Leigh Ann Pusey, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications, will leave Eli Lilly and Company at the end of 2023 to return to Washington, D.C. to pursue other career opportunities.
