Heart Future
Boston Scientific Corporation today announced the launch of the next-generation LUX-Dx II+ Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) System. The system can monitor for a long term.Arrhythmias associated with AFib, cryptogenic stroke, and syncope.
Insertable cardiac monitors are a highly competitive field. Abbott's Assert-IQ ICM received FDA approval in May, while Medtronic has also released positive data on its Linq monitor.

LUX-Dx II+ also features remote programming capabilities. This allows physicians and care teams to adjust event detection settings and log symptoms without the need for in-office appointments.
Boston Scientific Corporation stated that the system's two-stage algorithm can identify AFib, atrial and ventricular tachycardia, bradycardia, and rhythm pause monitoring. The algorithm also features a new Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC) burden function, enabling the device to detect arrhythmias whenever established thresholds or parameters are exceeded.
Additional features of the validation filter can then be applied, including extra options for nighttime programming. Nighttime programming aids in differentiating between actionable detections and irrelevant cardiac events for bradycardia and pause monitoring. Patients can also download an application for more convenient, seamless remote monitoring.
