MSD announced today that the Phase 3 AMBASSADOR (KEYNOTE-123) trial evaluating its PD-1 inhibitor Keytruda (pembrolizumab) as adjuvant therapy for patients with locally advanced muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma (MIUC) and locally advanced urothelial carcinoma met one of the dual primary endpoints, disease-free survival (DFS). According to the press release, this is the first positive outcome trial for Keytruda as an adjuvant therapy in such patients. In 2023, there are approximately 573,000 new cases of bladder cancer globally.
