Recently, LifeShield Medical (hereinafter referred to as "LifeShield") announced the successful completion of a financing round exceeding 100 million yuan. This round was jointly led by Sherpa Healthcare Partners and Yuanfeng Capital, with existing investor Proxima Capital continuing to invest, and Shanghai Lingang Blue Bay Capital also participating. It is reported that this round of financing will be used for the construction of the factory for LifeShield’s interventional artificial heart system project, accelerating the clinical validation and commercialization process of ECMO, while further advancing the clinical validation of China's first carbon dioxide removal system for treating severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Previously, LifeShield completed a financing round of several hundred million RMB in January 2022, led by PICC Capital, with participation from Proxima Capital, Bocui Capital, Junan Holdings, and Naxin Capital.

LifeShield is a Sino-German multinational medical device company located in Suzhou Industrial Park, China, and Aachen, Germany. The predecessor of the company, Suzhou Lifeshield Medical, was founded in 2018 as a startup focused on extracorporeal and intracorporeal life support. Through research, development, and technological innovation, LifeShield is dedicated to providing high-quality products and treatment solutions for patients with cardiovascular diseases and respiratory failure. LifeShield's innovative technology originates from Aachen, Germany, where Dr. Tim Kaufmann and his mentor Professor Ulrich Steinseifer from RWTH Aachen University co-founded Enmodes in 2011, specializing in the development services of medical devices and equipment. LifeShield has integrated the advanced technologies and R&D experience of the German team while leveraging China’s efficient, fast-paced work ethic and its unique cost advantages to achieve the transformation from technology to product.
