BioMap Today Announces Strategic Collaboration with Sanofi to Jointly Develop Cutting-Edge AI Modules for Biologics Drug Discovery Using Its AI PlatformSanofi has reached AI-based drug R&D collaborations with multiple companies in the past two years, including Exscientia, Insilico Medicine, and Atomwise.

Traditional AI methods require a large amount of labeled data to make accurate predictions. However, in the life sciences, labeled data is often missing.BioMap's foundational AI model leverages a large-scale model trained on ubiquitous unlabeled data to provide insights for multiple downstream task models. This approach enables superior predictions from limited data across a range of therapeutic areas, including immunology, neurology, oncology, and rare diseases.

By leveraging BioMap's customized foundational models and AI expertise, along with Sanofi's proprietary data, computational innovations in protein engineering, and extensive biologics development experience, both parties aim to create advanced AI models and large protein language models that will enable biologics design and multi-parameter optimization.

Under the terms of the agreement, BioMap will receive an upfront payment of $10 million and is eligible for payments based on clinical development, regulatory, and commercial milestones, with a total potential value exceeding $1 billion.
